New Quilt

Elizabeth is working on a beautiful new quilt for the upcoming shows and springtime. She is using Laura Gunn's fabric from Garden Wall and Painter's Canvas. The contemporary quilt pattern is Uptown Girl by Creative Sewlutions. More pictures to come when it's finished. Hope you like it!

The Wedding

Grand Bazaar Fabrics is more than just fabrics! We are made up artsy, innovative women and for my recent wedding in Seaside, Fl we used our skills to design all of the little details seen here!

For the wedding I made my cake topper, boutonnieres, wedding party flowers and with the help of my amazing MOH and sister, my wedding stationery!

Grand Bazaar Fabrics will be opening an Etsy store with crafty items like these and more for you to purchase in early 2012! Be on the lookout!

Clutch Purse Tutorial

Here is a clutch that I made out of some leftover Sandi Henderson fabrics. The fabric line is Meadowsweet. I found the tutorial on a Craftster forum. It was really easy to follow and I had a lot of fun making it. Hope you enjoy! ~Jenna

Fabric flower bouquet

Since my wedding is coming up in October, I thought I would share some of the things that I am making! First off- my fabric flower wedding bouquet!

I am using synthetic silk fabric, lace, tool, beads and buttons. I am not done, this is a work in progress! Hope you like it :) ~Jenna

Perfect Ten Quilt

This is a beautiful interpretation of the Perfect Ten Quilt Pattern from one of our customers! Perfect Ten is a pattern by Swirly Girl Designs, and this quilt was done entirely from Kaffe Fassett fabrics. How cool! Thank you so much for giving us this picture, we love it! Pictures from AQS Quilt Show Paducah

Despite the rain and the move from the town center at the pavillion, this year at Paducah was great! This was our first time at the AQS quilt show in Paducah, KY and we had a great time! We were moved to the old office max building by the mall due to the flooding that was going on down town Paducah. It turned out to be a great location and the buses were there with tons of people. A highlight of the weekend was that the weather came through for us and gave us some sunshine! Another hightlight? Strawberry shortcake from the boy scouts :)

Spring Quilt Projects

New Patterns for Spring! We are loving these new patterns by Lori Allison of Allison Quilt Designs. We have Diamond Time and Show Off! Table Runner. Both of these patterns are perfect for showing off a special large print you have or just any bright design. We worked with Lori to bring together some of our Kaffe Fassett fabrics for the Diamond Time pattern and Kathy Davis' Blossoming fabrics for the table runner. Aren't they great?

New Look

We are so excited to give Grand Bazaar Fabrics a new look! My mom and I worked with Like Sew Websites to design and bring to life our new website. We found Like Sew at Fall Market in Houston, TX and after about thirty minutes of talking to them we knew that we had to use them to design our new website!

We hope that you love our new website as much as we do! Thanks Like Sew Websites!

....on another note, my New Year's resolution is to blog more! I got off to a rough start this 2011 because I got engaged in November. Wedding things have been consuming all of my time, but I am getting back in to gear and hopefully you will be hearing a lot more from me!

Georgia Quilt Show-Atlanta, GA; October 14-16 2010

description: The debut of Georgia Quilt Show was welcomed with wide-open arms by quilters from Georgia and surrounding states alike. Students immersed themselves in classes taught by nationally known teachers and spent countless hours combing the vendor mall for the newest fabrics and latest in quilting tools and techniques. The diversity of pieces entered in the quilt competition quickly became the focal point of Georgia Quilt Show. NQA Judges Linda McCuean and Holice Turnbow were on hand for judging, and awarded cash prizes of over $4,000 in six categories. They selected their personal favorites, which received Judge’s Choice awards. Area guilds and members of the Georgia Quilt Council are to be commended for their assistance in judging, hanging the quilts, hostessing and repacking the quilts for return shipping. It takes many hands working in concert to assemble a Premier event – in Georgia Quilt Show we’ve found a recipe for success!

Serendipity Studios

We are sooo excited to bring you five new patterns and a new book from Serendipity Studios! We met the talented designer/author, Kay Whitt, at this year's spring fabric market and fell in love with her new book Sew Serendipity, and her skirt and dress patterns! She has bright, modern and easy to make designs that we hope you love as much as we do! Also all of our books have been signed by the author!

American Sewing Guild-ASG Conference 2010

ASG Conference-2010

8 Days until the conference! We are so excited for our first year participating in the American Sewing Guild Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA. We usually do quilting shows or quilting/sewing shows but this will be our first time at an all sewing show! How fun! We are especially looking forward to this show because it is close to home being in Atlanta.

Here is a description from the conference brochure:

"...from August 4–9, 2010, Atlanta is the place where ASG members from across the nation
will convene for ASG Conference 2010. Come and learn the best, the newest, the fastest, the most
professional techniques for all things sewing from 40 instructors teaching more than 100 workshops, seminars, and lectures in two-day, all-day, halfday, two-hour, and 90-minute formats. And when you’re not learning about sewing, you can shop for all things sewing in the vendor packed exhibit hall. These things alone make Atlanta worth the trip. . . but there’s more! Special events include Thursday evening’s Exhibit Hall Preview Night, Friday evening’s Member/Instructor/Exhibitor Fashion Show, Saturday’s Wear Your ASG Patterns Day, and inspiring exhibits, including the Art Bra Exhibit from The Way to Women’s Wellness Foundation, the Designer’s Challenge from the Handweavers Guild of America, and a selection of Bernina Fashion Show garments created by ASG members..."

Creative Customers

We are always excited to get emails with the work that people have done with our fabric. It makes me happy to see that people love our fabric as much as we do! Beth and I are working on a dress pattern using a tank top and some of our fabric, here is a look at our dress and one of our customers who took our design and made it her own! The result is beautiful!

Grand Bazaar Fabrics- Weddings

My sister Allison got married this summer in June and she used Grand Bazaar Fabrics in her decorations! Her colors were navy and violet. She decided to use some of our Michael Miller fabric for her table runners. My mom, Elizabeth, sewed them and it turned out magnificent! We loved being able to add something special to her wedding day! Congratulations Allison!
